What surface will we train on?
Tournaments and training sessions will happen on grass. In case of inclement weather, we will move practices inside the Mid-Hudson Athletic Center.
Do my partner and I have to be in the same grade?
No. You may sign up with anyone you like! They can be a student in a different grade or from a different school altogether. You can even sign up as a co-ed pair or... play with your Mom or Dad! The partnership possibilities are endless!
What if I don't have a partner?
We have a separate form to fill out for finding a partner if you don't already have someone in mind. While we don't guarantee that we will be able to find someone for you, we will do the best we can to match up individual players of similar levels of play.

What should I wear to participate?
You will receive a tank top for competition. You can wear whatever shorts you are comfortable in and you can wear whatever you like for training purposes. Most players choose to play in sneakers but some prefer to play barefoot. However, indoor volleyball sneakers are not the best choice for traction on the grass playing surface. We recommend training or trail-running sneakers.
What if I can't make it to every practice?
Of course it's okay if you have to miss a couple practices over the course of the summer. (We like family vacations too!) You won't be penalized for missing anything; you'll just miss that opportunity to play volleyball and get a little better. If your partner has to miss but you can still come, please do! One of the coaches or another player can hop on the court with you!
Can I wear sunglasses?
Yes! You can choose to wear sunglasses, a hat, or a visor to protect yourself from the sun. We do recommend selecting "sport" sunglasses and sunglasses that do not have metal frames. You should practice in whatever you think you might like to play in for tournaments.
When are where are the tournaments?
Tournament dates for the 2019 season are TBD. We will be offering several dates for pairs to choose from to assure two dates that work for both partners.
